सेठ की प्रदक्षिणा लगाता
मत्कुण कहता है, कि-
“क्या कहें हे सखे!
सही समय पर
सही दिशा दी तुमने
दम्भी-लोभी-कृपण की
परिभाषा दी तुमने,
कब से चली आती
कब तक चली जाती
यह
भ्रान्ति-निशा मिटा दी तुमने,
मानव के सिवा
इतर प्राणि-गण
अपने जीवन-काल में
परिग्रह का संग्रह करते भी कब ?
इस बात को मैं भी मानता हूँ कि
जीवनोपयोगी कुछ पदार्थ होते हैं,
गृह-गृहणी घृत-घटादिक
उनका ग्रहण होता ही है।
इसीलिए सन्तों ने
पाणिग्रहण संस्कार को
धार्मिक संस्कृति को
संरक्षक एवं उन्नायक माना है।
परन्तु, खेद है, कि
लोभी पापी मानव
पाणिग्रहण को भी
प्राण-ग्रहण का रूप देते हैं।
प्रायः अनुचित रूप से
सेवकों से सेवा लेते
While circumambulating the eminent trader
The bug tells, that –
“What to say, 0 Friend!
You have indicated towards the right direction
At the right time,
You have furnished a definition
Of a proud, greedy and miserly one,
This night of error
Which came down since long past,
Which went on into long futurity,
Has been effaced by you,
When do the other living creatures
Except the human beings
Accumulate the possessions for them
In their life-time ?
I too acknowledge the fact that
There are some objects useful to life,
A house, a housewife, Ghi (the clarified butter), the
pots etc. -They are surely taken under possession,
That is why the saints
Have granted the wedding-rite of marital hand-taking As the protector and promoter
Of the religious culture.
But it is a pity that
The greedy and sinful persons
Turn even the marital hand-taking (ceremony)
Into the life-taking (formality).
Generally, the attendants are asked to serve
In an improper way,
