उच्च-नीच भेद-भाव है
स्वर्ण और माटी का पात्र
एक नहीं है अभी
समता का धनी ही नहीं सकता वह!
एक के प्रति राग करना ही
दूसरों के प्रति द्वेष सिद्ध करता है,
जो रागी है और द्वेषी भी,
सन्त हो नहीं सकता वह
और
नाम-धारी सन्त की उपासना से
संसार का अन्त हो नहीं सकता,
सही सन्त का उपहास और होगा…
ये वचन कटु हैं, पर सत्य हैं,
सत्य का स्वागत हो!’’
फिर,
सेठ को उपहास की दृष्टि से
देखता हुआ कलश कहता है कि
‘‘गृहस्थ अवस्था में-
नाम-धारी सन्त यह
अकाल में पला हुआ हो
अभाव-भूत से घिरा हुआ हो
फिर भला कैसे हो सकता है
बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं का भोक्ता ?
तभी तो…
दरिद्र-नारायण-समं
स्वर्णादि पात्रों की उपेक्षा कर
माटी का ही स्वागत किया है।
There remains the difference between high and low The golden and the earthen pots
Aren't still alike
He can never be rich in having equity!
To sustain attachment for the one, indeed
Is to evince repugnance for the others,
The one, who harbours attachment and malice too,
Can never be a saint,
And
Through the adoration of a so-called saint
The worldliness can never come to a close
On the contrary, a genuine saint shall be put to
mockery... These words are bitter, but true,
Let the truth be welcomed !"
Then,
Having a look of derision upon the eminent trader
The golden pitcher utters that
“ As a householder-
This person, a so-called saint,
If he has been brought up in scarcity
If he has been surrounded by the ghost of privations – Then, how can he well be an enjoyer
Of the invaluable things ?
That is the reason why...
Having disregarded the vessels of gold etc.,
He has welcomed the clay only, -
Like a Lord of penury, that is, a penniless person.
