स्वर्ण-कलश की कटुता से
कलुषित हुए बिना
माटी के कुम्भ में भरा पायस ने
पात्र-दान से पा यश
उपशम-भाव में कहा, कि
‘‘तुममें पायस ना है
तुम्हारा पांय सना है
पाप-पंक से पूरा अपावन,
पुण्य के परिचय से वंचित हो तुम,
तभी तो...
पावन की पूजा रुचती नहीं तुम्हें
पावन को पाखण्ड कहते हो तुम।
जिसकी आँखों में काला पानी भी उतरा हो
देख सकता वह इस दृश्य को।
तुम्हारी पापिन आँखों ने
पीलिया रोग को पी लिया है
अन्यथा क्यों बनी है।
तुम्हारी काया पीली-पीली ?
पर-प्रशंसा तुम्हें शूल-सी चुभती है
कुम्भ के स्वागत-समादर से
आग-बबूला हुए हो,
जो भीतर होगा वही तो बाहर आएगा
स्वयं मठा-महेरी पी कर
औरों को क्षीर-भोजन कराते समय
डकार आएगी तो...खट्टी ही!
तुम स्वर्ण हो
उबलते हो झट से,
माटी स्वर्ण नहीं है
पर

Your sinful eyes
Have drunk up the ailment of jaundice
Otherwise, how is it
That your body looks pale ?
The praise to others pricks you like a thorn
You have flown into a rage
Due to the welcome-reception of the earthen pitcher,- Only that shall come out which lies there within, Having yourself taken the rice boiled in whey, While you are making the others take the
Milk-food-If a belch is felt...it would be sour indeed!
You are gold
You boil up instantly,
The clay is not gold
But -
