कुंकुम का पुट देखते ही बनता है!
हलदी कुंकुम केसर चन्दन ने
अपनी महक से
माहौल को मुग्ध-मुदित किया।
मृदुल-मंजुल-समता-समूह
हरित हँसी ले-
भोजन-पान-पाचक
चार-पाँच पान खाने के
कुम्भ के मुख पर रखे गये।
खुली कमल की पाँखुरी-सम
जिनके मुखाग्र बाहर दिख रहे हैं
और
उनके बीच में उन्हें सहलाने
एक श्रीफल रखा गया
जिस पर हलदी-कुंकुम छिड़के गये।
इस अवसर पर
श्रीफल ने कहा पत्रों को, कि
“हमारा तन कठोर है
तुम्हारा मृदु, और
यह काठिन्य तुम्हें अच्छा नहीं लगेगा।
आज तक
इस तन को मृदुता ही रुचती आई,
परन्तु
तब संसार-पथ था
यह पथ उससे विपरीत है ना!
यहाँ पर आत्मा की जीत है ना!
इस पथ का सम्बन्ध
तन से नहीं है,
तन गौण, चेतन काम्य है
The covering of rouge is worth seeing !
The turmeric, rouge, saffron and sandalwood
Make the surroundings charming and pleasing
With their odour.
Soft, lovely, having an uniform group
With a green smile -
Digestive for the food-stuffs and drinkables,
Four or five eatable betel-leaves,
Are placed around the mouth of the pitcher.
Like the petals of a blossomed lotus,
Whose frontal tops are peeping outside
And
Amid them, to tickle them,
Is placed a coconut,
On which turmeric and saffron were sprinkled.
On this occasion,
The Šrifala (coconut ) tells the betel-leaves, that
“Our body is hard
Yours is the soft one, and
This hardness won't suit you.
Uptil now
This body has really been relishing the softness,
But,
It was, then, the way of the world
Isn't this path contrary to it!
Isn't there the triumph of Soul here!
The relation of this path
Isn’t with the body, The body is secondary,
the Sentient Being or Consciousness is desirable.
