निशा इनकी बहन लगती है,
सागर से शशि की मित्रता हुई
अपयश-कलंक का पात्र बना शशि
किसी रूपवती सुन्दरी से
सम्बन्ध नहीं होने से
शशि का सम्बन्ध निशा के साथ हुआ,
सो. सागर को श्रेय मिलता यह!
मोह-भूत के वशीभूत हुए
कभी किसी तरह भी
किसी के वश में नहीं आते ये,
दुराशयी हैं, दुष्ट रहे हैं
दुराचार से पुष्ट रहे हैं,
दूसरों को दुःख दे कर
दूसरों को देखते ही
रुष्ट होते हैं, तप्त होते हैं,
प्रतिशोध की वृत्ति इनकी
सहजा - जन्मजा है
वैर-विरोध की ग्रन्थि इनकी
खुलती नहीं झट से।
निर्दोषों में दोष लगाते हैं
सन्तोषों में रोष जगाते हैं
वन्द्यों की भी निन्दा करते हैं
शुभ कर्मों को अन्धे करते हैं,
सुकृत की सुषमा-सुरभि को
सुँघना नहीं चाहते भूल कर भी,
विषयों के रसिक बने हैं
कषाय-कृषि के कृषक बने हैं
जल-धर नाम इनका सार्थक है।
The night is related to them as their sister,
The moon sought its friendship with the ocean
The moon became an object of disgrace and blemish Due to its failure in getting itself related
With some lovely lass,
The moon was married to night,
Hence...this credit goes to the ocean !
Being infatuated with the ghost of delusion
They are never subdued by anyone in any way,
They are ill-intentioned and have been the wicked ones, They have been strong in their malpractices,
They feel satisfied and satiated
Through inflicting sufferings on others;
At the very sight of others
They feel displeased and agitated
Their tendency to take revenge
Is spontaneous and inborn
Their complex for hostility and discord Doesn't relax itself easily. They slander the innocents
They awaken anger among the contentments
They scandalize even the venerable elders
The auspicious acts are blinded by them;
They don't like to smell, even by mistake,
The charming fragrance of the good deeds,
They have resigned themselves to the tastes of senses They have become the farmers of the harvest of foul passions Their denomination- 'Jala-dhara' i.e. jealousy holders' is meaningful.
