जड़त्व को धारण करने से जो
मति-मन्द मदान्ध बने हैं।
यद्यपि इनका नाम पयोधर भी है,
तथापि
विष ही वर्षाते हैं वर्षा-ऋतु में ये।
अन्यथा,
भ्रमर-सम काले क्यों हैं ?
यह बात निराली है कि
वसुधा का समागम होते ही
‘विष' सुधा बन जाता है
और, यह भी एक शंका होती है, कि
वर्षा-ऋतु के अनन्तर शरद्-ऋतु में
हीरक-सम शुभ्र क्यों होते...?
उपाय की उपस्थिति ही
पर्याप्त नहीं है,
उपादेय की प्राप्ति के लिए
अपाय की अनुपस्थिति भी अनिवार्य है।
और वह
अनायास नहीं, प्रयास-साध्य है।
इस कार्य-कारण की व्यवस्था को
स्मरण में रखते हुए ही
सर्व-प्रथम वह बादल-दल
देखते-देखते पलभर में
अपने पथ में बाधक बने
प्रभाकर से जा भिड़ते हैं
और
घन घमण्ड-घुले
Those who have become dull-minded and intoxicated By retaining senselessness with them.
Though they bear another name “Payodhara' "too,
Even then
They shower poison in the rainy season.
Otherwise,
Why are they as dark-black as the large black bees?
It is something remarkable that
The ‘poisono transforms into nectar
As soon as it comes in close contact with the Earth
And, one more doubt lurks, that
Why do they look as bright as diamond.
After the rainy season, in the autumn...?
Only the presence of some endeavour
Isn't enough,
For the attainment of the beneficial’
The absence of the injurious’ is also inevitable.
And that too Is accomplished
by special effort, and not all of a sudden.
Keeping in mind, indeed,
This discipline of the cause and effect,
At first, those bands of clouds
At once, within the twinkling of the eye,
Get together against the Sun
Which poses a hindrance in their way.
And
They, melted with high pride,
