उसकी कृपा कब होती है?
वसुधा पर वरीयसी
अनुकम्पा की बरसात है।
गीत-काल में
कब थे दीक्षित भी
शिक्षित कब थे प्रशिक्षित भी,
फिर भी अभ्यासी-सम
नर्तन करते सब के दाँत हैं।
दिन में सिकुड़न हो आई है।
प्रभाकर की प्रखरता भी
डरती बिखरती-सी लगती है।
और
ऊपर हो कर भी नभ में
प्रभाकर नतमाथ है।
जहाँ कहीं भी देखा
महि में महिमा हिम की महकी,
और आज!
घनी अलिगुण-हनी
शनि की खनी-सी...
भय-मद सी-अघ की जनी
दुगुणी हो आई रात है।
आखिर अखर रहा है।
यह शिशिर सबको
पर! पर क्या ?
एक विशेष बात है, कि
शिल्पी की वह
सहज रूप से कटती-सी रात है।
एक पतली-सी
सूती-चादर भर
When does he show his grace ? -
The showers of superior compassion
Fall upon the ground.
In the hour of singing a song
When were they initiated disciples too,
When were they educated and trained also,
Even then, like an experienced one,
The teeth of every one appear dancing.
The day manifests shrinkage
The fury of the Sun too
Seems to be alarmed and diffused,
And
Despite being at apex in the sky
The Sun is there with an inclined forehead.
Where-ever the eye flashed around
The dignity of snow was fragrant on earth,
And today!
The dense, dark-hued as a large black bee,
Like the shelter-house of Saturn...
The mother of fear, pride and sin-
The night has lengthened two-fold.
At last, this winter
Is appearing troublesome to all,
But ! but what ?
One note-worthy point is, that
With the Artisan
That night passes in a light way!
