हलकी-सी मधुरता...फिर
क्षण-भंगुरता झलकती है
ओस के कणों से
न ही प्यास बुझती, न आस
बुझता बस श्वास का दीया वह!
फिर तुम ही बताओ,
वात्सल्य में शान्त-रस का
अन्तर्भाव कैसा हो ?
माँ की गोद में बालक हो
माँ उसे दूध पिला रही हो
बालक दूध पीता हुआ
ऊपर माँ की ओर निहारता अवश्य,
अधरों पर, नयनों में
और
कपोल-युगलों पर।
क्रिया-प्रतिक्रिया की परिस्थिति
प्रतिफलन किस रूप में है-
परीक्षण चलता रहता है
यदि करुणा या कठोरता
नयनों में झलकेगी
कुछ गम्भीर हो
रुदनता की ओर मुड़ेगा वह,
अधरों की मन्द मुस्कान से
यदि कपोल चंचल स्पन्दित होते हों
ठसका लेगा वह!
यही एक कारण है, कि
प्रायः माँ दूध पिलाते समय-
अपनी अंचल में
बालक के मुख को छुपा लेती है।
A glimpse of sweetness... then
The sense of transience reflects.
With the dew-drops
Neither quenches the thirst, nor the hope
- Extinguishes only that lamp of breathings!
Then you please tell yourself,
How is the Sentiment of Quietism
Included into the Sentiment of Affection ?
If there be a child into mother's lap
If the mother is making him suck her breasts -
The child, while sucking the milk,
Certainly gazes upwards towards the mother,
At her lips, into her eyes
And
At the pair of her cheeks.
The position of action and reaction
Is reflected in what form –
The observation goes on,
If the compassion or harshness
- Would peep through her eyes
He would turn towards weeping
After being somewhat serious,
If the cheeks would appear playful and vibrant
Due to a faint smile upon her lips
He would give out a dash !
It is the only reason that
Mostly, the mother, while making the baby suck her milk – Gets the face of the child hidden
Under the border of her sādi.
