दाह को मिटा कर
सूख पाती है, और
नदी सागर को जाती है
राह को मिटा कर
सुख पाती है।
इस विषय को और उघाड़ना चाहूँगा
कि
धूल में पड़ते ही जल वह
दल-दल में बदल जाता है
किन्तु,
हिम की डली वो
धूली में पड़ी भी हो
बदलाहट सम्भव नहीं
ग्रहण-भाव का अभाव है उसमें
और
जल को अनल का योग मिलते ही
उसकी शीतलता मिटती है
और वह
जलता है, औरों को जलाता भी!
परन्तु,
हिम की डली को
अनल पर रखने पर भी
उसकी शीतलता मिटती नहीं है
और वह
जलती नहीं, न जलाती औरों को।
लगभग यही स्थिति है
करुणा और शान्त-रस की।
करुणा तरल है, बहती है
पर से प्रभावित होती झट-सी।
Having effaced the inflammation
It gets dried up, and
The river flows towards the sea
Having erased the way
It attains happiness.
I would like to go into more details of the topic -
That
As soon as the water drops down upon the dust
It changes into the marsh
But,
That fragment of snow
Even if it is confined within the dust
There is no probability of change in it
The receptive-sense doesn't exist therein.
And
As soon as the water comes in contact with fire
Its coolness disappears
And it
Not only burns itself but also inflames others !
But,
The piece of snow
On being placed upon fire
Doesn't lose its coolness
And
Neither it burns itself, nor scorches others.
Almost this is the state
Of compassion and the Sentiment of Quietism.
The compassion is fluid, flows on
It gets influenced instantly by external factors.
