यूँ! चिरर् चिर चिल्लाती
बचाओ...बचाओ...बचाओ!
इसकी रक्षा करो, क्या...नहीं ?
बताओ स्वामिन्!'

शिल्पी की छाती से चिपकती
भीति से कँपती हुई शिल्पी की मति।
तुरन्त,
मति के सिर पर फिरता है
अभय का हाथ शिल्पी का
बस इतना पर्याप्त !
हलकी-सी चेतना आती है
मति की पलकों में
और
हलकी-सी चपलता आती है
ललाट-तल पर पड़ी
मति की अलकों में।
एक ओर अभय खड़ा है
एक ओर भय अड़ा है
और
बीच में
भयाभयवाली उभयवती
...खड़ी है मती
देखो...किस ओर झुकती...सो
भय की चंगुल में जा फँसती है
या...
अभय के मंगल में आ बसती है ? कुछ
ही क्षण व्यतीत हुए कि
अभया बनती है मति
Thus! crying aloud chirr chirr
Save...save...save...!
Protect him, what !...no ?
Tell me, my Lord !”
And
Clinging to the chest of the Artisan
The very Intellect of the Artisan, trembling with fear.
Very soon,
The palm of assurance of safety by the Artisan
Turns upon the head of the Intellect,
Surely, it was enough !
A light consciousness awakens
Into the eyelids of the Intellect,
And,
A Momentary wavering touches through
The curly locks of the Intellect
Inclosing over the surface of the forehead.
The assurance of protection stands on one side
The fear makes its haltage on the other
And
In the very middle
Is staying itself the double-headed Intellect...
Which is imbued with fear and fearlessness both
Let us see...whereto does it incline...so
Whether it falls into the snare of fear
Or...
Comes to dwell within the benediction of
fearlessness ?
A few moments pass over when
The Intellect attains fearlessness
