पूर हुआ वह सुख का
धूप की आभा से भावित हो।
रूप का नन्दन वन।
धूल का समूह वह
सिन्दूर हुआ मुख का
मछली की आँखें
अब दौड़ती हैं सीधी
उपाश्रम की ओर...!
दिनकर ने अपनी अँगना को
दिन-भर के लिए
भेजी है उपाश्रम की सेवा में,
और वह
आश्रम के अंग-अंग को
प्रांगण को चूमती-सी...
सेवानिरत-धूप...!
स्थूल है
रूपवती रूप-राशि है वह
पर पकड़ में नहीं आती।
पर-छुवन से परे है वह
प्रभाकर को छोड़ कर
प्रभु के अनुरूप ही
सूक्ष्म स्पर्श से रीता
रूप हुआ है किसका ?
...धूप का।
मानना होगा
यह परिणाम-भाव
उपाश्रम की छाँव का है।
और
That heavenly garden of beauty
After being filled up with the sun-shine
Became a pool of pleasure.
That heap of dust
Turned into the vermilion on the face,
The eyes of the fish
Now run straight
Towards the hermitage...!
The Sun has sent His graceful lady
For all day long
In the service of the hermitage,
The every nook and corner of the hermitage
Along with the courtyard
Seems to be kissed by the sunlight…
Absorbed in service thereof...!
It is thick
It appears like a charming heap of beauty
But it escapes capturing.
It is beyond the touch of others
Leaving the sun aside,
Bearing similarity with the Lord,
Who has assumed that beauty
Which evades the minute touch ?
….It is that of the sunshine,
It should be accepted
This sense and sensibility
