घोंसला
 मैंने चिड़िया को
 घोंसला बनाते देखा है
 मैंने उसे
 दाना चुगते 
 और झट से
 आकाश में 
 उड़ते देखा है
 मैं चाहता हूँ
 कि चिड़िया 
 मुझे भी
 यह सब सिखाए
 कि किस तरह 
 जमीन से 
 जुड़े रहकर 
 आकाश में उड़ा जा सकता है, 
 कि किस तरह
 असीम आकाश में 
 उड़ने का अहसास 
 एक घोंसले में 
 रहकर भी
 जीवित रखा जा सकता है!

Nest
 I have watched the bird
 Make its nest.
 I have watched the bird 
 Gather grain and then
  fly away far in the sky.
 I wish the bird would teach me
 How to remain
 Connected to the earth
 While in flight, and
 How to keep alive
 A sense of the sky,
 While in the nest.
