बाँस का उपहास करता हुआ,
वंश-मुक्ता को लाँघता हुआ,
बहुमूल्य मुक्ता-राशि चढ़ाता है,
विनीत भाव से
कुम्भ के सम्मुख!
यही कारण हो सकता है, कि
यह मुक्ता ख्यात है,
गज-मुक्ता के नाम से।
मौन के मृदु-माहौल में
परस्पर एक-दूसरे की ओर निहारते,
कुछ पल फिसलते, कि
गज-मुक्ता वंश-मुक्ता में
और
वंश-मुक्ता गज-मुक्ता में
बहुत दूर तक
अपनी-अपनी आभा पहुँचाती हैं,
चिर-बिछुड़ी आत्मीयता
परखी जा रही है इस समय।
परन्तु,
भेद-विधायिनी प्रतिभा वह
बिन रसना-सी रह गई,
स्व और पर का खेद
मर-सा गया है
स्व और पर का भेद
चरमरा-सा गया है,
सब कुछ नि:शेष हो गया
शेष रही बस,
आभा...! आभा...!! आभा...!!!
Making fun of the bamboos,
Crossing over the bamboo-pearls,
The group offers its valuable heap of pearls
Before the Earthen pitcher
In all humility!
That is why, perhaps,
These pearls are well-known
By the name of elephant-pearls.
Under the favourable atmosphere of quietness
While staring at each other,
Some moments pass, when
Both, the elephant-pearls
As well as the bambo0-pearls
Transmit their respective brilliance
Into each other
To a great extent –
At this hour, the long-deserted intimacy
Is being put to test.
But,
That discriminative gifted intellect
Is left as if without a tongue,
The sense of melancholy resting upon
‘Ownness' and otherness' has almost faded away,
The sense of difference between ʻownness' and
‘otherness’ Has almost crumbled down.
All else remains without any remnants,
The residue is only
The splendour...! the lustre...!! the light...!!!
