युगों से वंश-परम्परा से
वंशीधर के अधरों का
प्यार-पीयूष मिला जिन्हें
वह बाँस-पंक्ति
मांसल बाँह-वाली
मंगल-कारक, अमंगल-वारक
तोरण-द्वार का अनुकरण करती
कुम्भ के पदों में प्रणिपात करती है
स्वयं को धन्य-तमा मानती है।
और
दृग-बिन्दुओं के मिष
हंस-परमहंसों-सी भूरि-शुभ्रा
वंश-मुक्ता की वर्षा करती है।
इसी बीच, इधर…
मांसाहारी सिंह से सताया
अभय की गवेषणा करता हुआ
भयभीत हाथियों का
एक दल यकायक
अपनी ओर आता हुआ देख
परिवार ने कहा यूँ
‘डरो मत, आओ भाई।''
और
प्रेम-भरी आँखों से बुलाया उसे।
वाह, वाह!! फिर क्या कहना!
परिवार के पदों में दल ने
अपूर्व शान्ति का श्वास लिया,
माँ के अनन्य अंक में
निःशंकता का संवेदन करता शिशु-सा।
फिर,
Which received the nectar of
love From the lips of the flute-player
In a hereditary way, through ages,
– That row of bamboos
With its fleshy arms, –
Imitating the arched gateway
Which keeps up the auspicious and keeps off the
inauspicious, Prostrates at the feet of the Earthen pitcher - Regards itself as the most blessed one.
And
In the form of the drops from the eyes, Showers the bamboo-pearls. Bright enough like swans, Supreme Swans, that is, great ascetics.
Meanwhile, hither...
On being harassed by a flesh-eater lion,
A group of alarmed elephants
Running in search of fearlessness,
All of a sudden,
Is seen when advancing towards their side,
The family addresses thus :
‘Don't be afraid; come brothers !
And
Gives them an affectionate call.
Hurrah ! how excellent, then !
At the feet of the family
The group experiences a breath of unique peace
Like that of a child sensing dauntlessness
Into the singular lap of the mother
