हे स्वर्ण-कलश!
तुम हो मशाल के समान,
कलुषित आशयवाली
और
माटी का कुम्भ है
पथ-प्रदर्शक दीप-समान
तामस-नाशी
साहस सहंस-स्वभावी!"
स्वर्ण-कलश को
मशाल की उपमा मिलने से
अपमान का अनुभव हुआ,
एकाक्षिणी इस लेखनी ने
मेरी प्रशंसा के मिष
इस निन्द्य-कार्य का सम्पादन किया,
इसमें मेरा भी अपराध सिद्ध होता है,
पर-निन्दा में मुझे निमित्त बनाया गया
यूँ स्वयं को
धिक्कारते हुए…
माटी के कुम्भ ने दीर्घ श्वास लिया
फिर,
प्रभु से प्रार्थना प्रारम्भः
"इन वैभव-हीन भव्यों को
भवों-भवों में
पराभव का अनुभव हुआ।
अब,

You are really like a flambeau,
With an foul intention
And
The earthen pitcher
Is like a guiding lamp-
A destroyer of darkness
Valiant and good-natured as a swan (Hansa)
The golden pitcher
Felt itself disgraced
On being compared to a flambeau,
This one-eyed pen
On the pretext of my admiration
Executed this despicable deed,
Through it, I am also proved to be guilty;
I have been used as an efficient cause in
defaming the others, In this manner
Reproaching himself...
The Earthen pitcher drew a deep sigh
Then,
Started a prayer to the lord :
“ These impoverished fortunate ones
