कई बार पात्र मिले
पर, भावना जगी नहीं
आज भावना बलवती बन पड़ी है,
इस अवसर पर भी यदि
दर्शन हो, पर स्पर्शन नहीं,
स्पर्शन हो, पर हर्षन नहीं,
भावना भूखी रहेगी...।
तो फिर कब...
भूख की शान्ति वह ?
आज का आहार हमारे यहाँ हो, बस!
इस प्रसंग में यदि दोष लगेगा
तो...मुझे लगेगा,
आपको नहीं स्वामिन्!
हे कृपा-सागर, कृपा करो
देर नहीं, अब दया करो।”
दाता की इस भावुकता पर
मन्द-मुस्कान-भरी मुद्रा को
मौनी मुनि मोड़ देता है
और
चार हाथ निहारता-निहारता
पथ पर आगे बढ़ जाता है।
तब तक दाता के मुख से पुनः
निराशा-घुली पंक्ति निकली :
‘‘दाँत मिले तो चने नहीं,
चने मिले तो दाँत नहीं,
और दोनों मिले तो…
पचाने की आँत नहीं...!"
The worthy ascetics (Munirājas) came across many a times But, the feelings were not aroused
the sentiments have acquired vigour to-day,
Even on this occasion, if
The visiting should take place but not the holy touch, The touching should, occur but not the rejoicing, The sentiments shall remain famished...!
At what stage, then...
That fulfilment of hunger ?-
The holy meals to-day should occur at our place, yes ! If any fault is found in this context
It shall then...be imputed to me,
And not to you, O Lord !
O thou ocean of mercy, take pity upon me,
Now, show your compassion without delay.”
- On this sentimentalism of the benefactor,
The silent Munirāja (saint) turns
His face bearing a soft smile
And
Observing gradually the ground by four cubits,
Goes ahead on his path.
Meanwhile, a line full of hopelessness Again breaks out from the lips of the benefactor:
“Of what good use are the teeth without the grams,
Of what good use are the grams without the teeth,
And of what good use are the both of Them... indeed If they are without a digestive intestine...!"
