The wayfarer of the boar-way, Rāhu –

Without raising any hue and cry

Without making one or two mouthfuls,

Swallows up the Sun, the heap of radiance,

    From heels to head, entirely.

The Sun is settled into the jaws of Rāhu

like a drop Into an ocean

Like an infant into the intense lap of a mother.

    The Sun disappears...therefore…

It seems to be the close of the day,

The feeble and the forlorn day looks Like a poor householder, surrounded by miserable days.

    Is it the twilight-hour

Or the untimely advent of the end!

Like the fore-head of a lady

Without an ornamental mark on it,

The courtyard, of a celestial nymph

    Has where remained fascinating?

The state of directions has changed

Like the body afflicted by chronic fever.

    The lotus-friend, the Sun, doesn't appear…

So, the assemblage of lotuses remains blinking

A decline out of order...is discerned in their

loveliness ! That life of the forests, gardens

    Seems to be deserted,

    And
