कुन्दित-भंगित होती देख
शिल्पी की दोनों आँखें
अपनी ज्योति को
बहुत-दूर...भीतर भेजती हैं
और द्वार बन्द कर लेती हैं
इससे यही फलित हुआ कि
इस अवसर पर आँखों का
अनुपस्थित रहना ही
होनहार अनर्थ का असमर्थन है।
ये आँखें भी
बहुत दूरदर्शिनी हैं,
थोड़े में यूँ कहूँ
शिल्पी के अंग-अंग और उपांग
उत्तमांग तक
उसी पथ के पथिक बने हैं
जिस पथ के पथिक पद बने हैं
माटी और शिल्पी
दोनों निहार रहे हैं उसे
उनके बीच में मौन जो खड़ा है
मौन से कौन वो बड़ा है?
मौन की मौनता गौण कराता हो
और
मौन गुनगुनाता है
उसे जो सुने, वही बड़ा है मौन से।
बोल की काया वह
अवधि से रची है ना
ढोल की माया वह
परिधि से बची है ना
परन्तु सुनो!
- On seeing as losing freshness and getting faded
Both the eyes of the Artisan
Send very far off...within
Their lustrous flame
And close the doors.
Through it, the result was that
The refraining of the eyes
On such an occasion
Means the disapproval of an impending misfortune.
These eyes too !
Are very far-sighted;
In brief, I should say that
All the parts and limbs of the Artisan's body,
Upto the head
Became the travellers of the same path
On which the feet tread as wayfarers.
The Earth as well as the Artisan
Both of them are staring at Him
Who is standing as ‘Silence' between them,
Who is the One greater than Silence ?
Who renders secondary the taciturnity of Silence
And
The taciturnity sings with a hum
The One, who hears it, is greater than Silence.
That body of the speech
Is made of time-limit, indeed!
The charms of the drum
Have really escaped due to its circumference!
But, listen !
