कई गुणा अधिक
साहित्यिक रस को
आत्मसात् करता है
श्रद्धा से अभिभूत श्रोता वह।
प्रवचन-श्रवण-कला-कुशल है;
हंस-राजहंस सदृश
क्षीर-नीर-विवेक-शीलवाला!
यह समुचित है कि
रसोइया की रसना
रस-दार रसोई का
रसास्वादन कम कर पाती है।
क्योंकि,
प्रवचन-काल में प्रवचनकार,
लेखन-काल में लेखक वह
दोनों लौट जाते हैं अतीत में।
उस समय प्रतीति में
न ही रस रहता है।
न ही नीरसता की बात,
केवल कोरा टकराव रहता है
लगाव रहित अतीत से, बस!
शिल्पी का आगमन हो रहा है।
माटी की ओर!
फूली माटी को रौंदना है
रौद-रौंद कर उसे
लोंदा बनाना है
रौंदन क्रिया भी वह
The hearer, who is subdued with faith,
Assimilates the literary essence
In a largely multiplied quality.
He is an expert in the art of sermon-hearing;
Like a swan-flamingo
Discerning the milk from water !
It is quite proper that
The tongue of a butler
Can take only a little of relish
From the tasteful foodstuffs.
Because
The preacher at the time of preaching,
The author at the time of his writing-period
Both of them return back into the past.
In that period of conviction
There remains neither the taste
Nor the sense of tastelessness,
Only a bare clash looms large
Upon a non-attached past, indeed !
The Artisan's arrival is taking place
Towards the Soil !
The swollen soil is to be trampled,
Having trampled it
It has to be kneaded into lumps,
That process of trampling too -
