इधर...अधर से उतरी
बालटी में पानी
और
पानी में बालटी
पूर्ण रूप से दोनों
अवगाहित होते हैं,
मछली उसमें
प्रवेश पा जाती है।
“धम्मं सरणं पव्वज्जामि”
इस मन्त्र को भावित करती हुई
आस्था उसकी
और आश्वस्त होती जा रही है।
आत्मा उसकी
और स्वस्थ होती जा रही है।
आत्मा उसकी
और स्वस्थ होती जा रही है।
इस धृति की काष्ठा को देख कर
इस मति की निष्ठा को देख कर
सारी-की-सारी मछलियाँ
विस्मित हो आईं
और
कुछ क्षणों के लिए
उनकी भीतियाँ
विस्मृत हो आईं।
सत्कार्य करने का
एक ने मन किया
...दृढ़ प्रण किया
और
शेष सबने उसका
अनुमोदन किया।
Hither...descending through the space,
The bucket filled with water
And
the water encircling the bucket.
Both of them get fully
Immersed into each other,
The fish finds
Entrance inside it
“Dhammam saranam pavvajjāmi, that is,
‘I’m seeking the shelter of ‘Dharma’
-While assimilating this incantation- Mantra
Its faith
Is getting gradually assured,
Its soul
Is getting more and more healed up.
On seeing this height of steadiness
On seeing this fidelity of intellect
All the fish
Felt astonished
And
For some moments
Their fears
Were faded away.
One of them felt inclined
And made up its mind...
To do virtuous deeds
And
All the rest of them
Extended their approval.
