बावली कहीं की!
मेरी आली!”
इधर यह क्या हुआ ?
स्निग्ध-स्मित मतिवाली
काया की छाया, शिल्पी की
सुदूर कूप में
स्वच्छ जल में
स्वच्छन्द तैरती-
मछली पर जा पड़ी।
मछली की मूधर्ना
ऊपर हो उठी,
और
उसकी मानस-स्थिति भी
ऊर्ध्वमुखी हो आई,
परन्तु
उपरिल-काया तक
मेरी काया यह
कैसे उठ सकेगी ?
यही चिन्ता है मछली को!
काया जड़ है ना!
जड़ को सहारा आपेक्षित है,
और वह भी जंगम का।
और सुनो!
काया से ही माया पली है।
माया से भावित-प्रभावित
मति मेरी यह...।

What a crazy one !
A friend of mine !
What did this happen here ?
The shadow of the Artisan's body
Having a smooth-smiling intellect,
Fell upon a fish
Swimming at its sweet will
Into the clean water
Of a distant well.
The head of the fish
Thrust itself upwards,
And
Its mental state too
Attained some elevation,
But
The fish is really worried
As to how its body
Would raise itself
Upto the person high above ?
The body is after all non-sentient' indeed
The non-sentient expects support,
And that too of the sentient being.
And listen !
Illusion has been fostered by the corporeal
existence
This intellect of mine is
Mixed up and affected
With illusion, that is ‘Māyā’....
