माटी के मुख पर
क्रुधन की साज क्यों नहीं छाई ?
क्या यह
राजसता का राज़ तो नहीं है ?
लगता है, कि
कुछ अपवाद छोड़ कर
बाहरी क्रिया से
भीतरी जिया से
सही-सही मुलाकात
की नहीं जा सकती
और
गलत निर्णय ले
जिया नहीं जा सकता।
यूँ ही यह जीवन
शंका-प्रतिशंका करता
बलानुसार उत्तर देता
अरुक-अथक आगे-आगे
चलता ही जा रहा स्वयं
..कि
इधर
भोली माटी
कुछ ना बोली
और
बोरी में भरी जा रही है...
बोरी के दोनों छोर बन्द हैं।
बीचों-बीच मुख है
और
सावरण-साभरण
लज्जा का अनुभव करती,
नवविवाहिता तनूदरा
घूँघट में से झाँकती-सी...
Why wasn't the face of the Soil
Clouded with a flush of anger ?
Isn't it the mystery, indeed,
Of the greed of gain ?
It seems, that,
Barring some exceptions,
Through the external activity
A true intuitive perception
Of the innermost soul
Can not be accomplished.
And
One can't live
By passing a wrong judgment.
Thus, this life itself,
Lingering between doubts and counter-doubts
And answering according to its own vigour,
Is going ahead, on and on
Unhampered and unwearied,
...When
Hither...
The innocent Soil
Kept her mouth closed;
And
Is being filled into the bags...
Both the ends of the bags are tied up,
Right in the middle is the opening !
And
Like a nicely-clad and embellished,
Bearing a look of shyness,
Newly-wedded lean-waisted bride
As if peeping through her veil...
