आज-जैसा प्रभात
विगत में नहीं मिला
और
प्रभात आज का
काली रात्रि की पीठ पर
हलकी लाल स्याही से
कुछ लिखता है, कि
यह अंतिम रात है
और
यह आदिम प्रभात !
यह अन्तिम गात है
और
यह आदिम विराट!
और, हर्षातिरेक से
उपहार के रूप में
कोमल कोपलों की
हलकी आभा-घुली
हरिताभ की साड़ी
देता है रात को।
इसे पहन कर
जाती हुई वह
प्रभात को सम्मानित करती है
मन्द मुस्कान के साथ...!
भ्रात की बहन-सी।
इधर...सरिता में
लहरों का बहाना है,
चाँदी की आभा को
Couldn't find in the days gone by
The one like that of to-day
And
The Morn of to-day
On the back of the dark Night
With the light red ink
Seems to inscribe something, that,-
This is the Last Night,
And
This-the First Morn;
This is the Ultimate Body
And
This-the Primeval Supreme Being !"
And, with a sense of ecstasy
Presents to the Night
In the form of a gift
A greenish Sādi
Dipped into a light brilliance
Of the tender tendrils.
Having clothed herself with it
She, while departing,
Pays her homage to Morn
With a gentle smile...!
As does a sister to her brother.
Hither...into the river
There is an upsurge of waves,
Winning over the splendour of silver
