स्थिर मन ही वह
महामन्त्र होता है
और
अस्थिर मन ही
पापतन्त्र स्वच्छन्द होता है,
एक सुख का सोपान है
एक दु:ख का ‘सो' पान है।”
पुनः शूल जिज्ञासा व्यक्त करता है
कि
“मोह क्या बला है
और
मोक्ष क्या कला है ?
इनकी लक्षणा मिले, व्याख्या नहीं,
लक्षणा से ही दक्षिणा मिलती है।
लम्बी, गगन चूमती व्याख्या से
मूल का मूल्य कम होता है
सही मूल्यांकन गुम होता है
मात्रानुकूल भले ही
दुग्ध में जल मिला लो
दुग्ध का माधुर्य कम होता है अवश्य!
जल का चातुर्य जम जाता है रसना पर!”
कंटक की जिज्ञासा समाधान पाती है
शिल्पी के सम्बोधन से-
“अपने को छोड़ कर
पर-पदार्थ से प्रभावित होना ही
मोह का परिणाम है
और
सबको छोड़ कर
अपने आप में भावित होना ही
A serene mind is truly
A Mahā-mantra - an efficacious incantation
And
A fickle mind is really
A realm of sin, full of wantonness,
The one is a stair for happiness
The other is, hence, a drink of sufferings.”
Again the thorn expresses its curiosity
That
"What calamity the 'delusion' is
And
What art is the Supreme Salvation' ?
The true indications of these are required, not explanations,
The genuine attributes win over the award.
By the lengthy and Sky-touching elucidation
The value of the ‘fundamental decreases,
The true evaluation is found missing.
It doesn't matter if you mix-up
The milk with water in due quantity -
The sweetness of the milk surely decreases !
The smartness of the water is frozen over the tongue!”
The inquest of the thorn is rectified
In the addressing of the Artisan-
“Leaving behind our own 'Self'
To be infatuated with alien objects, indeed,
Is the result of delusion'
And
Abandoning entirely everything else
To contemplate within our own True 'Self', indeed
