कुम्भ का कहना हुआ :
“नहीं..नहीं...नहीं
लौटना नहीं!
अभी नहीं...कभी भी नहीं…
क्योंकि अभी
आतंकवाद गया नहीं
उससे संघर्ष करना है अभी
वह कृत-संकल्प है
अपने ध्रुव पर दृढ़।
जब तक जीवित है आतंकवाद
शान्ति का श्वास ले नहीं सकती
धरती यह,
ये आँखें अब
आतंकवाद को देख नहीं सकतीं,
ये कान अब
आतंक का नाम सुन नहीं सकते,
यह जीवन भी कृत-संकल्पित है कि
उसका रहे या इसका
यहाँ अस्तित्व एक का रहेगा,
अब विलम्ब का स्वागत मत करो
नदी को पार करना ही है
कुम्भ के भाग में क्या
विफलता-शून्यता लिखी है?
कुम्भ के त्याग में क्या
विकलता-न्यूनता रही है ?
शिथिल विश्वास को
शुद्ध श्वास मिलेगा
और
पंकिल श्वास को
समृद्ध वास मिलेगा
The sacred pitcher adds :
“No...no...no...
We mustn't return !
Not at present...never indeed...
Because even now
The terrorism hasn't subsided,
A struggle has yet to be waged against it –
It is firm in determination,
Steadily adamant upon its own fixture.
Till the terrorism is alive,
This Earth Can't take the breath of peace,
These eyes, now
Can't see the terrorism,
These ears, now
Can't hear the name of terror,
This life too is firmly resolute that
That one (terror) or this one (peace) –
Here, the existence of the one shall remain,
Now, don't welcome the delay –
The river has to be crossed, indeed. –
Has failure-emptiness been writ large
Upon the fate of the sacred pitcher ?
-Has there remained any worthlessness, flaw
In the observance of austerities with self-denial,
By the sacred pitcher ?
The feeble faith
Shall inhale pure breathing,
And
The muddy breath shall gain
A prosperous sweetness of smell.
