उसकी आयत आँखों में
आँसुओं का आना रुक गया है
और
अन्दर का आर्त अन्दर ही
अवरुद्ध हो घुट रहा है।
बार-बार पलकों की टिमकार से
आँखों में जलन का अनुपात बढ़ रहा है
मन्द-मन्द पवन-चालन से
प्रथम तो
अग्नि सुलगती है,
फिर, प्रबल प्रदीप्त होती ही है।
यद्यपि इस बात का प्रबन्ध है कि
सेठ जी के शयन-कक्ष में
खिड़कियों से हो-हो कर
मन्द-शीतल-शीलवाला
पवन प्रवेश पाता है प्रतिपल
परन्तु,
सेठ के मुख से निकलती हुई
उष्णिल श्वासों की लपटों से
पूरा माहौल धगधगाहट में
बदल ही जाता है।
कृपा-पालित कपाल से
पलायित-सी हुई कृपा
और
लाल-लोहित कपाल बना सेठ का,
जिस पर बैठने को
मचलता हुआ भी, एक मच्छर
जो रुधिर-जीवी है,
घबरा रहा है, बैठ नहीं रहा।
The flow of tears has stopped
Into his oblong eyes
And
His inner affliction
On being obstructed, is getting suffocated inwardly.
The ratio of inflammation into the eyes
Is growing due to the repeated winking of the eyelids, By the slow blowing of the breeze
At first, indeed,
The fire gets aroused,
Then, it really gains momentum for blazing up.
Though there is such an arrangement that,
Through the windows,
In the bed-chamber of the eminent trader.
The slow and cooling
Air enters every moment,
But,
Due to the blaze of the heated breaths
Emitting from the mouth of the eminent trader,
The whole of the atmosphere
Changes really into a very hot state.
The sense of grace seemed escaping
From the compassionate skull,
And
The forehead of the eminent trader became blood-red, To sit up at which
An obstinate mosquito
Who lives upon blood,
Is feeling perplexed, and is descending not to sit.
