स्वर्ण को उगलती अवश्य,
तुम माटी के उगाल हो!
आज तक
न सुना, न देखा
और न ही पढ़ा, कि
स्वर्ण में बोया गया बीज
अंकुरित हो कर
फूला-फला, लहलहाया हो
पौधा बन कर।
हे स्वर्ण-कलश!
दुखी-दरिद्र जीवन को देख कर
जो द्रवीभूत होता है
वही द्रव्य अनमोल माना है।
दया से दरिद्र द्रव्य किस काम का ?
माटी स्वयं भीगती है दया से
और
औरों को भी भिगोती है।
माटी में बोया गया बीज
समुचित अनिल-सलिल पा
पोषक तत्वों से पुष्ट-पूरित
सहस्र गुणित हो फलता है।
माटी के स्वभाव-धर्म में
अल्पकाल के लिए
अत्यल्प अन्तर आना भी
विश्व के श्वासों का विश्वास ही समाप्त।
यानी
प्रलयकाल का आना है।
एक बात और है कि
हे स्वर्ण-कलश!
Certainly, it vomits the gold,
You are the disgorgement of the Earth !
Till today
Neither it has been heard, nor seen
And nor it was read, that
The seed sowed into the gold
Had ever flourished As a plant
After sprouting, flowering and fruiting.
O thou golden pitcher !
The one who feels a deeper sense of pity
At seeing a life of pains and penury
Only that wealth of feeling has been regarded invaluable. What is the use of the wealth of feeling
Which is poor in compassion ?
The clay itself drenches with pity
And
It moistens the others too.
The seed sowed into the earth
With the help of proper air and water
Bears fruits a thousand times more, On being strengthened and filled by nutritious substances.
In the natural characteristics of the Earth
Even for a short period
The visibility of even a very little difference
Ends the faith within the vital breathings of the world. That is
It indicates the advent of universal destruction.
O thou golden pitcher !
