लज्जा का अनुभव करती
धरती में जा छुपना चाहती है
अपने सिकुड़न-शील मुख को
दिखाना चाहती नहीं किसी को।
सेठ के दायें हाथ की मध्यमा में
मुदित-मुखी स्वर्णिम मुद्रा है
जो माणिक-मणि से मण्डित है
जिसकी रक्तिम आभा
अतिथि के अरूणिम अधरों से
बार-बार अपनी तुलना करती
और
अन्त में हार कर आकुलिता हो
लज्जा के भार से
अतिथि के पद-तलों को छू रही है,
और ऐसा करना उचित ही है
पूज्य पदों की पूजा से ही
मनवांछित फल मिलता है।
इसी भाँति
सेठ के बायें हाथ की तर्जनी में
रजत-निर्मित मुद्रा है
मुद्रा में मुक्ता जड़ी है।
करपात्री की अदृष्टपूर्व
कर-नख-कान्ति लख कर
क्लान्ति का अनुभव करती है
और
ज्वराक्रान्त होती।
यही कारण है, उसकी
रक्त-रहित शुभ्र-काया बनी है;
पात्र के दोनों कपोल वह
गोलगोल हैं, सुडौल भी
Feeling a sense of shyness
It wishes to hide itself into the Earth
It doesn't want to show to anyone
Its face, which tends to shrink.
Into the mid-finger of the noble trader's right hand
There is a pleasant-looking golden ring
Which is studded with the gems of ruby
Whose reddish radiance
Is comparing itself once and again
With the rosy lips of the holy guest, the saint
And
Ultimately, feeling pained due to its defeat
Is touching the feet of the holy guest
With a heavy sense of shyness,
And it is proper to do so –
One gets the desired blessings
Through his devotion to the venerable feet.
In the same manner
Into the fore-finger of the noble trader's left hand
There is a silver-made ring,
The ring is inwrought with a pearl.
It feels distress at
Seeing the unforeseen brilliance
Of the hand-nails of the bowl-palmed ascetic
And
Feels a feverish attack.
That is why it keeps up
Its bloodless bright body;
Both the cheeks of the holy guest, the saint,
Are circular, and well-shaped too, -
