कविता-श्रवण ने उसे
बहुत प्रभावित किया।
पुनः संकेत मिलता है सेठ को-
अब शत-प्रतिशत निश्चित है
पात्र का अपनी ओर आना।
जैसे-जैसे
प्रांगण पास आता गया
वैसे-वैसे
पात्र की गति में मन्दता आई
और
पात्र को अनुभूत हुआ कि
उसके पदों को आगे बढ़ने से रोक कर
अपनी ओर आकृष्ट कर रहा है
कोई विशेष पुण्य-परिपाक!
पात्र की गति को देख कर
और सचेत हो,
श्रद्धा-समवेत हो
अति मन्द भी नहीं
अति अमन्द भी नहीं,
मध्यम मधुर स्वरो में
अभ्यागत का स्वागत प्रारम्भ हुआ :
‘भो स्वामिन्!
नमोस्तु! नमोस्तु! नमोस्तु!
अत्र! अत्र! अत्र!
तिष्ठ! तिष्ठ! तिष्ठ!'
यूँ सम्बोधन-स्वागत के स्वर
दो-तीन बार दोहराये गये
साथ-ही-साथ,
धीमे-धीमे हिलने वाले
The listening of poetry
Has impressed him deeply.
Again, some hint is dropped with the eminent
trader – The arrival of the holy hermit towards us
Is now cent-per-cent certain.
The more the courtyard
Came nearer,
The more the gait of the holy hermit
Caught slowness accordingly
And
The holy guest (Munirāja) felt that
By arresting his steps from going ahead,
Some unique ripeness of the virtuous deeds
Is attracting them towards itself !
On seeing the gait of the worthy guest –
Being more cautious,
Being filled with veneration,
With the medium melodious voice -
Not too dim
Not too loud as well,
The reception of the holy visitor began :
"O Swāmin !
Salutation to thee! Salutation to thee! Salutation to thee ! Hither ! hither ! hither!
Please stay! stay ! stay !’
Thus the notes of addressing and greeting
Were repeated twice or thrice
Along, with it,
Moving to and fro very slowly –
