प्रयोजन बस, बन्धन से मुक्ति!

अब तक प्रांगण में चौक पूरा गया
खेल खेलती बालिकाओं द्वारा।
लगभग समय निकट आ चुका है
अतिथि की चर्या का-
चर्चा इसी बात की चल रही है
दाताओं के बीच!
नगर के प्रति मार्ग की बात है
आमने-सामने अड़ोस-पड़ोस में
अपने-अपने प्रांगण में
सुदूर तक दाताओं की पंक्ति खड़ी है
पात्र की प्रतीक्षा में डूबी हुई है।
प्रति प्रांगण में प्रति दाता
प्रायः
अपनी धर्मपत्नी के साथ खड़ा है।
सबकी भावना एक ही है।
प्रभु से प्रार्थना एक ही है,
कि
अतिथि का आहार निर्विघ्न हो
और वह
हमारे यहाँ हो बस!
लो, पूजन-कार्य से निवृत्त हो
नीचे आया सेठ प्रांगण में
और वह भी
माटी का मंगल-कुम्भ ले खड़ा हो गया।
