सा...रे ग...म यानी
सभी प्रकार के दुःख
प...ध यानी पद-स्वभाव
और
नि यानी नहीं,
दुःख आत्मा का स्वभाव-धर्म नहीं हो सकता,
मोह-कर्म से प्रभावित आत्मा का
विभाव-परिणमन मात्र है वह।
नैमित्तिक परिणाम कथंचित् पराये हैं।
इन सप्त-स्वरों का भाव समझना ही
सही संगीत में खोना है
सही संगी को पाना है।
ऐसी अद्भुत शक्ति कुम्भ में
कहाँ से आई, यूँ सोचते सेवक को
उत्तर मिलता है कुम्भ की ओर से
कि
‘‘यह सब शिल्पी का शिल्प है,
अनल्प श्रम, दृढ़ संकल्प
सत्-साधना-संस्कार का फल।
और सुनो,
यह जो मेरा शरीर
घनश्याम-सा श्याम पड़ गया है
सो...जला नहीं।
जिस भाँति
वाद्य-कला-कुशल शिल्पी
मृदंग-मुख पर स्याही लगाता है
उसी भाँति शिल्पी ने मेरे अंग-अंग पर,
स्याही लगा दी है,
जो भाँति-भाँति के बोल
Sā...re...ga...ma, la that is,
All types of afflictions
Pa...dha, that is, the essential quality –
And, Ni,
that is, 'not', - -Affliction can never be an essential quality of Soul, It is only the degenerating after-effect contrary to the real nature Of the soul, under the bondage of the kārmic nature of delusion.

reason are somehow alien, From a particular point of view, that is ‘kathanchit, To comprehend, indeed, the sense of these seven notes of gamut Is to be rapt with the true music Is to obtain a true companion.Where from did the pitcher attain Such a power, thinking thus, the attendant Gets an answer from the pitcher That “All this craftsmanship is the creation of the Artisan,
The result of genuine devotion and purification,
Special efforts and firm resolve.
And, hark,
This body of mine
Which has turned blackish as a dark cloud Hasn't...really...burnt away.
Just as
A craftsman skilled in the art of musical instruments Applies dark ink on the mouth-top of a timbrel, In the same manner The Artisan has applied dark ink Upon each and every limb of my body, And the different notes of the gamut
