तुम्हें निमित्त बना कर
अग्नि की अग्नि-परीक्षा ले रहा हूँ।
दूसरी बात यह है कि
मैं एक स्वामी का सेवक ही नहीं हूँ
वरन्
जीवन-सहायक कुछ वस्तुओं का
स्वामी हूँ, सेवन-कर्ता भी।
वस्तुओं के व्यवसाय
लेन-देन मात्र से
उनकी सही-सही परख नहीं होती
अर्थोन्मुखी दृष्टि होने से,
जब कि
ग्राहक की दृष्टि में
वस्तु का मूल्य वस्तु की उपयोगिता है।
वह उपयोगिता ही भोक्ता पुरुष को
कुछ क्षण सुख में रमण कराती है।”
सो, यह ग्राहक बन कर आया है
और
कुम्भ को हाथ में ले कर
सात बार बजाता है सेवक।
प्रथम बार कुम्भ से
‘सा' यह स्वर उभर आया ऊपर
फिर, क्रमशः लगातार
रे...ग..म...प...ध...नि
निकल कर नीराग नियति का
उद्घाटन किया
अविनश्वर स्वर-सम्।
कुल मिला कर भाव यह निकला-
Utilizing you as an efficient cause I'm
putting the fire itself to the fire-test through you.
The other point is that
I'm not only an attendant to a master
But
I'm also the owner of some commodities
Essential to life, and their user as well.
Through the business of the things
Through their give and take only,
Their real test can't be undertaken –
The viewpoint being that of monetary gain;
While
According to the customer's view
The true, value of a thing consists in its utility.
That utility indeed makes a man-the consumer –
Enjoy comfort for some moments."
Hence, he has come as a customer
And
After holding up the pitcher in his hand,
The attendant sounds it seven times.
As the first strain
The note ‘sā swells out from the pitcher
Then, continuously, in a series, Re...ga...ma...pa...dha...ni…
Having gushed out, unfolds
The unimpassioned destiny regulations full of feelings Like that of the imperishable strains.
In toto, the sense prevails –
