सहज-प्राप्त शक्ति का
सदुपयोग करना है, धर्म है।
और,
दुष्टों का निग्रह नहीं करना
शक्ति का दुरूपयोग करना है, अधर्म!
मैं निर्दोष नहीं हूँ
दोषों का कोष बना हुआ हूँ
मुझमें वे दोष भरे हुए हैं।
जब तक उनका जलना नहीं होगा
मैं निर्दोष नहीं हो सकता।
तुम्हें जलाने की शक्ति मिली है
मैं कहाँ कह रहा हूँ
कि मुझे जलाओ ?
मेरे दोषों को जलाओ!
मेरे दोषों को जलाना ही
मुझे जिलाना है
स्व-पर दोषों को जलाना
परम-धर्म माना है सन्तों ने।
दोष अजीव हैं,
नैमित्तिक हैं,
बाहर से आगत हैं कथंचित्,
गुण जीवगत हैं,
गुण का स्वागत है।
तुम्हें परमार्थ मिलेगा इस कार्य से,
इस जीवन को अर्थ मिलेगा तुमसे,
मुझमें जल-धारण करने की शक्ति है
जो तुम्हारी प्रतीक्षा कर रही है,
उसकी पूरी अभिव्यक्ति में
तुम्हारा सहयोग अनिवार्य है।”
Is to make good use of
Naturally obtained strength, is religiousness.
And,
Not to chastise the wicked ones
Is to misuse the power, is irreligious !
I'm not a faultless one
I'm a treasure-house of sins
I'm filled up with those faults.
Until they are burnt off
I can't be faultless.
You have been entrusted with the power to burn
Where am I asking you
To make me inflammed ?
Let my faults be burnt off !
To turn my evils into ashes
Is to make me live indeed
To burn away the faults of our own ‘self' And those of the others Has been acknowledged by the saints
- As a supreme religious performance.
The faults are inanimate elements,
Are the by-products of some accidental cause,
Arrive somehow from outside;
The virtuous merits belong to Soul, Such merits deserve reception. You shall attain the most sublime Truth through this deed,
This life shall be infused with a true purpose by you, I possess the capability of retaining water
Which is awaiting you, Your co-operation is inevitable For its perfect expression.”
