अग्नि की परीक्षा नहीं होगी क्या ?
मेरी परीक्षा कौन लेगा ?
अपनी कसौटी पर अपने को कसना
बहुत सरल है...पर
सही-सही निर्णय लेना बहुत कठिन है,
क्योंकि,
‘‘अपनी आँखों की लाली
अपने को नहीं दिखती है।”
एक बात और भी है, कि
जिसका जीवन औरों के लिए
कसौटी बना है
वह स्वयं के लिए भी बने,
यह कोई नियम नहीं है।
ऐसी स्थिति में प्रायः
मिथ्या-निर्णय ले कर ही
अपने आपको प्रमाण की कोटि में
स्वीकारना होता है...सो
अग्नि के जीवन में सम्भव नहीं है।
‘‘सदाशय और सदाचार के साँचे में ढले
जीवन को ही अपनी
सही कसौटी समझती हूँ।"
फिर कुम्भ को जलाना तो दूर,
जलाने का भाव भी मन में लाना
अभिशाप-पाप समझती हूँ, शिल्पी जी!
....तब !’’
उपरिली वार्ता सुनता हुआ
भीतर से ही कुम्भ कहता है अग्नि से
विनय-अनुनय के साथ कि
‘‘शिष्टों पर अनुग्रह करना
Shall the ordeal of fire itself not take place ?
Who shall put me to test the fire or the water ?
To examine ourself on our own touchstone
Is so easy...but
It is very difficult to take the right decision,
Because.
'The ruddiness of our own eyes
Isn't visible to us’.
One added point too is there, that
The life, which has become
A touchstone for others
Should act as a touchstone also for itself,
It isn't an inevitable rule.
In such a situation, generally,
Having taken a false decision indeed,
One has to affirm himself
In the rank of a testimony...therefore,
It's not possible in the life of the fire.
'The life moulded into
The cast of magnanimity and virtuous conduct
Is regarded by me the true touchstone of myself.'
Then, far from really burning the pitcher,
Even to think of burning it Is taken
by me as a curse, a sin, dear Artisan !
...Well, then !”
On hearing the words spoken out above,
The pitcher tells the fire from within the kiln
With a sense of humility and conciliation, that
“ To do a favour unto the mannerly persons-
