उठने की शक्ति नहीं होना ही दोष है

कुम्भ के जीवन को ऊपर उठाना है,

तुम्हें ही निमित्त बनना है।"
यूँ शिल्पी के वचन सुन कर
संकोच-लज्जा के मिष
अन्तःस्वीकारता प्रकट करती-सी-
पुरुष के सम्मुख स्त्री-सी-
थोड़ी-सी ग्रीवा हिलाती हुई
लकड़ी कहती है कि-
‘‘बात कुछ समझ में आई, कुछ नहीं,
फिर भी आपकी उदारता को देख,
बात टालने की हिम्मत
...इसमें कहाँ''...और
लकड़ी की ओर से स्वीकारता मिली
प्रासंगिक शुभ कार्य के लिए!

अवा के मुख पर दबा-दबा कर
रवादार राख और माटी
ऐसी बिछाई गई, कि
बाहरी हवा की आवाज तक
अवा के अन्दर जा नहीं सकती अब...!
अवा की उत्तर दिशा में
