उसकी शोकाकुल मुद्रा
कुछ कहने का साहस करती है, कि
‘‘जन्म से ही हमारी प्रकृति कड़ी है
हम लकड़ी जो रहीं
लगभग धरती की जा छू रही हैं
हमारी पाप की पालड़ी, भारी हो पड़ी है।
हमसे बहुत दूर.पीछे
पुण्य की परिधि बिछुड़ी है
क्षेत्र की ही नहीं,
काल की भी दूरी हो गई है
पुण्य और इस
पतित जीवन के बीच में…
कभी-कभी हमें बनाई जाती
कड़ी से और कड़ी छड़ी
अपराधियों की पिटाई के लिए।
प्रायः अपराधी-जन बच जाते।
निरपराध ही पिट जाते,
और उन्हें
पीटते-पीटते टूटतीं हम।
इसे हम गणतन्त्र कैसे कहें ?
यह तो शुद्ध'धनतन्त्र' है
या
मनमाना ’तन्त्र’ है!
इस अनर्थ का फल-रस
हमें भी मिलता है चखने को,
और
यह जो हमें निमित्त बना कर
निरपराध कुम्भको
जलाने की साध चली है।
Its woe-begone posture
Ventures to say something, that
“ Our nature is hard since the very birth
We have been the pieces of timber
Almost reaching the ground, we have been touching it, The pan of our sins has become heavy.
At a very far-off distance...behind us,
The ‘Compass’ of moral merits has been separated from us, Not only the distance of the region
But also the distance of the time has occurred
Between the righteous conduct
And this degraded life…
Often we have been moulded into
The hard to the harder canes
For punishing the culprits.
Generally, the defaulters escaped punishment
While the innocents were put to beating,
And, while beating them every now and then,
We were broken into pieces.
How can we call it to be a democracy ?
This is simply an aristocracy,
Or
It is a despotic rule or autocracy !
The fruit-extract of this impropriety
We also have to relish,
And
This yearning, which has been started
To burn the innocent pitcher
By making us as its efficient cause-
