जब आँखें लगती हैं...तो
दुःख देती हैं।
आँखों में सुख है कहाँ ?
ये आँखें
दुःख की खनी हैं
सुख की हनी हैं
यही कारण है कि
इन आँखों पर विश्वास नहीं रखते
सन्त-संयत साधु-जन
और
सदा-सर्वथा चरणों लखते
विनीत-दृष्टि हो चलते हैं।
...धन्य!
फिर भी,
खेद की बात यह है कि
आँखें ऊपर होती हैं।
और
चरण नीचे!
ऊपर वालों की शरण लेना ही
समुचित है, श्रेयस्कर-
ऐसी धारणा अज्ञानवश बना कर
पूज्य बनने की भावना ले कर
आँखों की शरण में
कुछ रजकण चले जाते हैं।
पूज्य बनना तो दूर रहा,
उनका स्वतन्त्र विचरण करना भी
लुट जाता है...खेद!
आँखों के बन्धन से मुक्ति पाना
अब असम्भव होता है, उन्हें
When the eyes fall in love' or are drowsy' ...then
They afflict pains !
Where is happiness there within the eyes ?
These eyes –
Are the mines of troubles
Are beaten by worldly pleasures
That is the reason why
The saints, the self-restrained saintly persons
Do not trust these eyes
And
While always keeping their eye firmly upon their feet Move on with an humble look
...How fortunate!
Even then,
The point of sorrow is, that
The eyes are placed above
And
The feet below!
To seek the shelter of the high-ups indeed,
Is proper and salutary -
- By holding such a firm opinion out of Ignorance,
With an idea of becoming venerable,
Some particles of dust
Take refuge into the eyes.
Their venerability remains indeed a distant affair,
Even their free movement
Is sacked...alas !
Now, it becomes impossible for them
To be free from the confinement of the eyes
