एक भी ओला नीचे आ कर
कुम्भ को भग्न नहीं कर सका!
जहाँ तक हार-जीत की बात है-
भू-कणों की जीत हो चुकी है।
और
बादलों-ओलों के गले में
हार का हार लटक रहा है
सुरभि-सुगन्धि से रहित
मृतक मुरझाया हुआ।
तथापि,
नये-नये बादलों का आगमन
नूतन ओलों का उत्पादन
बीच-बीच में बिजली की कौंध
संघर्ष का उत्कर्षण-प्रकर्षण
कलह कशमकश धूर्तता
सागर के विषम-संकेत क्रूरता
आदि-आदि यह सब
पराभव के बाद बढ़ता हुआ दाह-परिणाम है,
क्रोध का पराभव होना सहज नहीं।
इस प्रतिकूलता में भी
भूखे भू-कणों का साहस अद्भुत है,
त्याग-तपस्या अनूठी!
जन्म-भूमि की लाज
माँ-पृथिवी की प्रतिष्ठा
दृढ़ निष्ठाओं के बिना
टिक नहीं सकती,
रुक नहीं सकती यहाँ,
Even a single piece of hail-stone coming down
Can't leave a pitcher broken !
So far as the victory or defeat is concerned –
The particles of Earth have come out triumphant
And
Around the neck of the clouds and the hailstorm
The necklace of subjection is hanging -
Devoid of sweet smell and fragrance,
Almost dead and faded.
Even then,
The advent of fresh and new clouds
The creation of additional hail-stones
The intermittent flashes of lightning
The uprise and intensity of friction
A conflict, a tug-of-war, a cunningness
The odd gestures from the ocean, cruelty
Etcetera, etcetera,-this all
Is the distressing result growing after the defeat,
The overthrow of anger is not an easy thing!
Even under this reverse state,
The courage of the hungry particles of Earth is
astonishing, The sense of renunciation and penance remarkable! The dignity of the Motherland The honour of the Mother-Earth
Can't be upheld intact
Without firm faith,
It can't be kept up here,
