हिंसा की हिंसा करना ही
अहिंसा की पूजा है...प्रशंसा,
और
हिंसक की हिंसा करना ही या पूजा
ये दोनों नियम से
अहिंसा की हत्या है...नृशंसा।
धी-रता ही वृत्ति वह
धरती की धीरता है
और
काय-रता ही वृत्ति वह
जलधि की कायरता है।
यूँ
मही की मूर्धन्यता को
अर्चना के कोमल फूलों से
और
जलधि की जघन्यता को
तर्जना के कठोर शूलों से
पदोचित पुरस्कृत करता
प्रभाकर फिर
स्वाभिमान से भर आया,
जितनी थी उतनी पूरी-की-पूरी
उसकी तेज उष्णता वह
उभर आई ऊपर।
रुधिर में सनी-सी, भय की जनी
ऊपर उठी-तनी भृकुटियाँ
लपलपाती रसना बनी,
आग की बूंदें ही टपकाती हों,
घनी..कहीं..
‘नहीं, नहीं, किसी को छोड़ेंगी नहीं।’
To nullify the violence
Is to adore, to appreciate...non-violence,
And
To kill or worship a destroyer or killer
As a rule
Is to murder non-violence...is brutality.
That very natural tendency of thoughtfulness
Is the steadfastness of the Earth
And
That very natural tendency of being absorbed into body Is the cowardice of the ocean.
Thus,
Rewarding according to the due dignity -
The supremacy of the Earth
With the tender flowers of adoration
And
The lowliness of the ocean
With the harsh thorns of reproval,
The Sun, then
Was filled with a sense of self-respect,
His that sharp heat
Sprang up to the full extent
Which was there within him.
The eyebrows, supine under tension
As if bathed into blood, arousing fear,
Took the form of a brandishing tongue –
Seemed to be dripping the drops of fire,
Densely...somewhere...
“No, no, none shall be excused.'
