आप प्रजापति हैं, दयानिधान!
हम प्रजा हैं दया-पात्र,
आप पालक हैं, हम बालक!
यह आप की ही निधि है
हमें आप की ही सन्निधि है
एक शरण!
मेरी अनुपस्थिति के कारण
आप लोगों को कष्ट हुआ,
अब पुनरावृत्ति नहीं होगी स्वामिन्!
आप अभय रहें।”
यूँ कहता-कहता
मुक्ता की राशि को बोरियों में
स्वयं अपने हाथों से भरता है
बिना किसी भीति से।
इस दृश्य को देख कर
मण्डली-समेत राज-मुख से
तुरन्त निकलती है ध्वनि-
‘‘सत्य-धर्म की जय हो!
सत्य-धर्म की जय हो!!"
इसी प्रसंग में
प्रासंगिक बात बताता है
अपक्व कुम्भ भी
प्रजापति को संकेत कर :
‘‘बाल-बाल बच गये, राजन्!
बड़ा भाग्य का उदय समझो!
वरना,
जल-जल कर वाष्प बन
You are a sovereign, Othou the Treasure of Mercy !
We are the people, an object of compassion,
You are the protector, we the youngsters,
This is really your own treasure
We belong to your Holy Presence
A Shelter !
You elders faced troubles
Due to my absence,
Now, no more of such repetitions, my Lord !
You kindly rest assured.”
While making such utterings,
Fills the heaps of pearls
With his own hands, into the bags
Without any sense of terror.
On beholding this scene,
A voice at once spreads out
From the lips of the King, along with his retinue, –
“ Victory to the true religion !
The true religion be triumphant !!”
In this very context
The immature pitcher too
Relates a relevant point
By dropping a hint to the Sovereign :
“ You made a narrow escape, O King !
Take it as the dawning of a favourable fate !
Otherwise,
You, having burnt yourself,Would have evaporated
