इससे पिछली, बिचली बदली
पलाश की हँसी-सी साड़ी पहनी
गुलाब की आभा फीकी पड़ती जिससे
लाल पगतली वाली लाली-रची
पद्मिनी की शोभा सकुचाती है जिससे,
इस बदली की साड़ी की आभा वह
जहाँ-जहाँ गई चली
फिसली-फिसली, बदली वहाँ की आभा भी।
और,
नकली नहीं, असली
सुवर्ण वर्ण की साड़ी पहनी है
सबसे पिछली बदली वह।
इनका प्रयास चलता है सर्वप्रथम
प्रभाकर की प्रभा को प्रभावित करने का !
प्रभाकर को बीच में लेकर
परिक्रमा लगाने लगीं !
कुछ ही पलों में
प्रभा तो प्रभावित हुई,
परन्तु,
प्रभाकर का पराक्रम वह
प्रभावित-पराभूत नहीं हुआ,
उसके कार्यक्रम में कुछ भी कमी नहीं आई।
अपनी पत्नी को प्रभावित देख कर
प्रभाकर का प्रवचन प्रारम्भ हुआ।
प्रवचन प्रासंगिक है, पर है सरोष!
‘‘अतीत के असीम काल-प्रवाह में
स्त्री-समाज द्वारा
Which follows the first one, the middle cloudlet,
Like the laughter of a Palāśa tree" wore a sādi
Which diminishes the splendour of a rose,
Which makes blush the loveliness of a lily
Having ruddy feet-soles stained with myrtle;
The splendour of the Sādi of this cloudlet
Where-ever moves on, sliding and gliding,
The brilliance of that spot too gets changed.
And,
Not a false, but genuine
Gold-coloured sādi is wrapped
By the rearmost cloudlet.
Their first and foremost attempt is
To thwart the radiance of the Sun !
Having taken the Sun amid themselves
They start circumambulating it !
Within a few seconds
The radiance gets affected indeed,
But,
The valour of the sun
Isn't thwarted or defeated,
No decline is observed in its movements.
On seeing its better-half under the sway
The preachings of the Sun start up.
The discourse, though relevant, is really wrathful !
“In the limitless time-stream of the past
It has neither been heard nor observed –
