एक-दो बूंदें मुख में गिरते ही
तत्काल बन्द-मुखी बना कर
सागर उन्हें डुबोता है,
कोई उन्हें छीन न ले, इस भय से।
और, अपनी
अतल-अगम गहराई में छुपा लेता है।
वहाँ पर कोई गोताखोर पहुँचता हो
सम्पदा पुनः धरा पर लाने हेतु
वह स्वयं ही लुट जाता है।
खाली हाथ लौटना भी उसका कठिन है…
दिन-रात जाग्रत रहती है यहाँ की सेना
भयंकर विषधर अजगर
मगरमच्छ, स्वच्छन्द
सम्पदा के चारों ओर विचरण करते हैं,
अपरिचित-सा कोई दिखते ही
साबुत निगलते हैं उसे!
यदि वह पकड़ में नहीं आता हो
तो...तो...क्या?
वातावरण को विषाक्त बनाया जाता है
तुरन्त, विष फैला कर।
यही कारण है कि
सागर में विष का विशाल भण्डार मिलता है।
पूरी तरह जल से परिचित होने पर भी
आत्म-कर्तव्य से
चलित नहीं हुई धरती यह।
कृतघ्न के प्रति विघ्न उपस्थित
करना तो दूर,

crocodiles Move around the wealth fancifully,

swallow up any one

If he escapes their grip

The atmosphere is made poisonous
