अब तो चेतें -विचारें
अपनी ओर निहारें

यहाँ चल रही है केवल
तपन...तपन...तपन...!
वसन्त चला गया
उसका तन जलाया गया,
तथापि
वन-उपवनों पर, कणों-कणों पर
उसका प्रभाव पड़ा है
प्रति जीवनों पर यहाँ,
रंग-रग में रस वह
रम गया है रक्त बन कर।
रूप पर, गन्ध पर, रस पर,
परिणाम जो हुआ है परस पर
पर्त-पर-पर्त गहरा लेप चढ़ गया है।
वह प्राकृत सब कुछ ढक चुका है
वह विषय बहुत गूढ़ बन चुका है
इसीलिए
दाह-संस्कार के अनन्तर भी
पूरा परिसर यह
स्नपित-स्नात होना अनिवार्य है।
परन्तु यह क्या!
अतिथि होकर भी अति क्यों ?
आय नहीं होता, नहीं सही
Is reformed naturally through thy Own-self...own-self...own-self…
Even now, be alert, be thoughtful
Behold thy own self,

Here there is going on only
Heat...heat...heat...!
The vernal season departed
Its body was put to flames,
Even then
It has left behind its impact
Upon forests, parks, on every particle
Upon each and every form of life here;
That flavour, having taken the form of blood,
Has penetrated into each and every vein.
As a result of coming in touch with it
A deeper paint has affected strongly
All the folds of beauty, smell and taste.
All that was natural has been covered up
That subject has assumed a deeper secrecy
Therefore,
Even after the funeral ceremony,
The entire campus
Has to be necessarily bathed and washed.
But, how strange it is !
Despite being a guest, why this excess ?
