घृत से भरा घट-सा
बड़ी सावधानी से शिल्पी ने
चक्र पर से कुम्भ को उतारा,
धरती पर
दो-तीन दिन का
अवकाश मिला
सो...कुम्भका गीलापन
मिट-सा गया...
सो...कुम्भ का ढीलापन
सिमट-सा गया।
आज शिल्पी को बड़ी प्रसन्नता है
कुम्भ को उठा लिया है हाथ में।
एक हाथ में सोट लिया है
एक हाथ की कुम्भ को ओट दिया
और
कुम्भ की खोट पर चोट किया।
हाथ की ओट की ओर देखने से
दया का दर्शन होता है,
मात्र चोट की ओर देखने से
निर्दयता उफनती-सी लगती है
परन्तु,
चोट खोट पर है ना!
सावधानी बरत रही है;
शिल्पी की आँखें पलकती नहीं है
तभी...तो…
इसने कुम्भ को सुन्दर रूप दे
घोटम-घोट किया है
कुम्भ का गला न घोट दिया!
Like a pot filled with clarified butter, that is, Ghi,
The Artisan, with utmost care,
Brought the holy pitcher (Kumbha) down the wheel,
Upon the ground !
An interval was found
For two or three days
So...the humidity of the pitcher
Was almost withered away…
Hence, the laxity of the pitcher...
Was almost contracted.
Today, the Artisan is highly delighted -
The holy pitcher has been picked up in hand.
He has taken up a wand in one hand
Has provided a cover with the other one,
And
The flaw of the holy pitcher has been hit with it.
On keeping in view the covering of hand
The sense of compassion is perceived,
While keeping an eye upon the strokes only
The sense of cruelty seems to be boiling over,
But,
The strokes are really confined to the flaw!
The precaution is being observed;
The eyes of Artisan do not wink
That is...why...
Having bestowed an excellent form to the holy pitcher
He has polished and smoothened it,
The throat of the holy pitcher has not been choked!
