संयम-रत धीमान् को ही
‘ओम्’ बना देता है।
जहाँ तक शान्त-रस की बात है
वह आत्मसात् करने की ही है
कम शब्दों में
निषेध-मुख से कहूँ
सब रसों का अन्त होना ही-
शान्त-रस है।
यूँ गुनगुनाता रहता
सन्तों का भी अन्त:प्रान्त वह।

रस-राज, रस-पाक
शान्त-रस की उपादेयता पर
बल देती हुई पूरी होती है
इधर माटी की रौंदन-क्रिया भी।
और
पर्वत-शिखर की भाँति
धरती में गड़े लकड़ी की रॉड पर
हाथ में दो हाथ की लम्बी लकड़ी ले
अपने चक्र को घुमाता है शिल्पी।
फिर घूमते चक्र पर
लोंदा रखता है माटी का
लोंदा भी घूमने लगता है-
चक्रवत् तेज-गति से, कि
माटी कुछ कहती है शिल्पी को,
It makes a self-disciplined prudent person
A devotee to ‘Om.’
So far as the Sentiment of Quietism is regarded
It is concerned with the sense of assimilation
In a few words
I should say, in the style of negation,
The Sentiment of Quietism is
The tranquilization of all the other Sentiments.
Thus goes on enchanting
The innermost conscience of the sages.
...How blissful !
On the other side, the process of trampling the Soil too Reaches its completion while stressing upon
The beneficiality of the Supreme
And mellowed Sentiment of Quietism.
And
Like a mountain-top,
Upon the wooden rod - buried into the earth,
The Artisan revolves his wheel
With a two-cubit long stick in his hand.
Then Upon the spinning wheel
Puts a lump of the Soil,
The lump too starts whirling round –
With the same fastness as that of the wheel, when
The Soil tells something to the Artisan,
