इस पर शिल्पी कहता है :
‘रोना करुणा का स्वभाव नहीं है,
बिना रोये करुणा का
प्रयोग भी सम्भव नहीं।
करुणा का होना
और
करुणा का करना
इन दोनों में अन्तर है,
तथापि
इतनी अति अच्छी नहीं लगती।
इस बात को मानता हूँ,
कि
बिना खाद-डली खेत की अपेक्षा
खाद-डली खेत की वह
फसल लहलहाती है,
परन्तु
खाद में बीज बोने पर तो...
फसल जलती-दहदहाती है।
हाँ, हाँ !!
अनुपात से खाद-जल दे दिया खेत को
बीज बिखेर दिये खेत में
फिर भी बीज वे अंकुरित नहीं होते
माटी का हाथ उन पर नहीं होने से।
इतना ही नहीं,
जिन बीजों पर
माटी का भार-दबाव बहुत पड़ा हो
वे भी अंकुरित हो
नहीं आ सकते भू-पर
दम घुट जाता है उनका, भीतर ही भीतर।
At this, the Artisan Says:
“Bewailing is not the nature of Compassion,
Without weeping, the application too
Of compassion is not possible.
The compassion in feeling
And
The compassion in action -
There is difference between both of them,
Nevertheless
So much of excess doesn't seem befitting!
I acknowledge the point,
That
In comparison to an unmanured field
The harvest of the manured field
Is more flourishing,
But
On sowing the seeds into the manure…
The crop gets scorched and emits flames.
Yes, o yes !!
The field is filled with manure and water in due
Proportion The seeds are scattered over the farm Even then they don’t get sprouted Without the hand of the Soil caressing them.
Not only this much,
Those seeds,
Upon which the pressure-weight of the Soil is too heavy Don't appear out of the soil –
On getting sprouted –
Inside the very layers, they get themselves suffocated.
