स्वर न ही ध्येय है, न उपादेय
स्वर न ही अमेय है, न सुधा-पेय
साधक यह जान ले भली-भाँति!"

“ओ श्रवणा!
कितनी बार
श्रवण किया स्वर का
ओ मनोरमा !
कितनी बार
स्मरण किया स्वर का
कब से चल रहा है।
संगीत-गीत यह ?
कितना काल अतीत में
व्यतीत हुआ, पता हो, बता दो...!
भीतरी भाग भीगे नहीं अभी तक
दोनों बहरे अंग रहे
कहाँ हुए हरे भरे ?
हे नीराग हरे!
अब बोल नहीं, माहौल मिले!
संगीत को सुख की रीढ़ कह कर
स्वयं की प्रशंसा मत करो
सही संगीत की हिंसा मत करो
अरे श्रृंगार!
संगीत उसे मैं मानता हूँ
जो संगातीत होता है।
और
प्रीति उसे मैं मानता हूँ।
