एक में विराग है
अनघ त्याग है
जिसका फल पार मिलता है।
एक औरों का दम लेता है
बदले में
मद भर देता है,
एक औरों में दम भर देता है।
तत्काल फिर
निर्मद कर देता है।
दम सुख है, सुख का स्रोत
मद दु:ख है, सुख की मौत!
तथापि
यह कैसी विडम्बना है,
कि
सब के मुख से फूलों की ही
प्रशंसा की जाती है,
और
शूलों की हिंसा की जाती है।
यह क्या
सत्य पर आक्रमण नहीं है?
पश्चिमी सभ्यता
आक्रमण की निषेधिका नहीं है।
अपितु!
आक्रमण-शीला गरीयसी है
जिसकी आँखों में
विनाश की लीला विभीषिका
घूरती रहती है सदा सदोदिता
और
महामना जिस ओर
अभिनिष्क्रमण कर गये
There is renunciation in the other-
The sinless resignation
The fruit of which is Emancipation.
The first one almost takes away the breath of others
And, in return,
Fills only with arrogance,
The second fills others with self-restraint
Then, instantly,
Makes them pridelessly sensible,
Self-restraint is joy, the source of happiness
Arrogance is pain, the death of joy!
Even then,
What a mockery is it
That
Only flowers are lauded
By every lip,
And
The thorns are crushed
Is it not
An assault against the Truth ?
The Western culture
Is not a prohibitor of aggression,
But !
It is largely aggressive
In whose eyes
Stares the sport of destruction, a terrible sight,
Always staging a show of itself,
And -
The direction towards which,
the magnanimous ones
Moved their renunciatory steps.
