तेरी गोद में ही
इसे
और बोध मिलेगा, माँ!
तेरी गोद में ही
फिर शोध चलेगा, माँ!
अगणित गुणों के ओघ का।
और सुनो, माँ!
व्याधि से इतनी भीति नहीं इसे
जितनी आधि से है।
और
आधि से इतनी भीति नहीं इसे
जितनी उपाधि से
इसे उपधि की आवश्यकता है।
उपाधि की नहीं, माँ!
इसे समधी-समाधि मिले, बस!
अवधि-प्रमादी नहीं।
उपधि यानी
उपकरण-उपकारक है ना!
उपाधि यानी
परिग्रह-अपकारक है ना!”
और मछली कहती है,
‘‘इसलिए मुझे
सल्लेखना दो, माँ!
बोधि के बीज, सो
उल्लेखना दो, माँ!
मुझे देखना दो...
समाधि को बस देख सकें।”
इस पर मुस्कान लेती हुई
माटी कहती है कि
Only in thy lap
She
Would gain more wisdom, Mother !
Only in thy lap
Then would commence the investigation
Of the multitude of countless merits.
And listen, Mother !
She is not afraid of ailments as much
As she fears mental agony,
And
She has no fear of the mental distress
As much as she is afraid of possessions.
She needs means of subsistence,
And not property or belongings, O Mother !
She should only achieve Samādhi, that is means of exhaltation -
Samādhi- the ‘Absolute Serenity’
And not a negligent intellect.
‘Upadhi’ - that is -
The means of subsistence - aren't they helping !
‘Upādhi’ - that is -
Possessions - aren't they injurious !”
And the fish adds,
“Hence, confer upon me, O Mother !
‘Sallekhanā’ - the Supreme Renunciation,
The seeds of Divine or Right Knowlege, -
Bestow upon me such Holy Sermons, Mother !
Let me be the seer...of Right Faith !
I should only visualize - the Samādhi -
The Absolute Serenity!”
On hearing this, with a budding smile,
The Earth says :
