उसे
नूतन जाल-बन्धन समझ ।
सब मछलियाँ भागतीं भीति से।
मात्र संकल्पिता वह मछली
वहीं खड़ी है।
साथ एक की सखी है उसकी
और
उस सखी को कुछ कहती है वह :
“चल री चल…!
इसी की शरण ले हम।
‘‘धम्मो दया-विसुद्धो”
यही एक मात्र है।
अशरणों की शरण!
महा-आयतन है यह
यहीं हमारा जतन है।
वरना,
निश्चित ही आज या कल
काल के गाल में कवलित होंगे हम!
क्या पता नहीं तुझको?
छोटी को बड़ी मछली
साबुत निगलती हैं यहाँ
और
सहधर्मी सजाति में ही
वैर वैमनस्क भाव
परस्पर देखे जाते हैं!
श्वान, श्वान को देख कर ही
नाखूनों से धरती को खोदता हुआ
गुर्राता है बुरी तरह।”
And assuming it
To be a new bondage of some pitfall
All the fish run away out of fear.
Only that dedicated fish
Still stands there
Having only one female companion with it
And
She whispers something to her thus:
“Come, o friend, come...!
We should take refuge herewith.
'Dhammo dayā-visuddho'
- “ The religion consists in true compassion ”
- This is the only
Harbour for the forlorn
This is a great shelter-house
Here only we get protection
Otherwise,
Certainly, today or tomorrow,
We shall become a morsel into the jaws of mortality !
Don't thou know?
A tiny fish is swallowed up entire
By a bigger one, here,
Moreover,
The feelings of hostility and malice
Are found against each other amongst those
Who are co-related through religion or caste!
A dog growls fiercely,
While scratching the ground with its nails,
At the very sight of the other dog."
